• Definition: 'Initial vocational' training is used to denote any
   form of initial vocational training of non-university level,
   including technical vocational training and apprenticeship,
   which enables youg people to gain a vocational qualification
   recognised by the competent authorities of the Member
   State in which it is obtained

• A total of 100,000 training placements are proposed in the
   period 1992 to 1994, of which 80,000 will be provided for
   young people in initial vocational training and 20,000 for
   young workers</text>
